WIAW # 12

I really don’t know where all the weeks are going at moment and the year is scarily going by very fast.  It is fast approaching my 35th birthday and I can’t believe I am going to be that old!

Any way it is that time of the week again and here are my eats from last week
 Peas and Crayons
For breakfast I had seen agreat protein pancakes on Carrots n Cake.

My version was one egg, one egg white and a touch of cinnamon.  All blitz together and fried.  It was really yummy but I should have had some thing to add to the top. The original recipe says to add a good dollop of peanut butter but as I am trying to lose weight I have not bought any.  It was not as filling as I liked but I think with the peanut butter it would have been more filling.  Need to think about that one.

Lunch was a quinoa salad with roast vegetables and balsamic vinegar

Dinner was a tasty Moroccan chicken and chickpea dish with roast vegetables.

I am still loving my veg snacks and hummus on an afternoon.

I am still struggling with hay fever this week. I have kept to my exercise plan and am at spinning tonight but and finding it really hard work.  My weekend ride was fantastic and I was aching nicely on Monday and Tuesday.

I am still watching the Olympics and loving it.  It was the last of the cycling last night and I was so happy that Chris Hoy won gold and Victoria Pendleton won silver.  She was so emotional as it was her last ever race.

How has your week been? Any slimming advice is very welcome as seriously struggling.

    1. Thank you. I will sort out the recipe for the Moroccan chicken. It is easy to make and had a mixture of onion, peppers, new potatoes, tin tomatoes , chickpeas and chicken. My husband really likes it.

  2. Happy upcoming birthday! Four years ago I spent my 35th birthday with my future husband, enjoying Cuban food and a bottle of Tempranillo. The year before that I celebrated my birthday swimming laps at the pool...34, plus 1 for good luck! The year before that, working on an art project. Whatever you decide to do, I hope it's special, and something that you really enjoy. :) As far as slimming advice, what's been working for me is eating fruit and veggies for lunch with fat-free yogurt. I have a big bowl of chopped apples, pear, cucumber, broccoli, pineapple, grapes, blueberries, celery, and about 1/2 cup yogurt with cinnamon. I don't always finish it, so save the rest for a snack. You can mix in protein powder with your yogurt, too. It's helped with my digestion and my tummy has been happier. :)

    1. Thank you for all the advice. It sounds like you had some great birthdays. I am not sure what i am going to do but am thinking of either a afternoon out with friends drinking cocktails or having some friends around. I like the idea of fruit and veg for lunch. I am finding it hard to say no to wine at the moment!!
